Ashfield Academy installs Optimum 100
Originally built as a school in 1964 the intervening years have seen the development into an Academy spread over 40 acres of rural country side.
Ashfield Academy has a continual growth and expansion plan to meet the demand of growing community in North Nottinghamshire.
Recent developments to this outstanding academy have been the music and drama centre followed by the library and with the latest addition being the ICT extension.
Built over 3 floors the new extension would require vertical access for the less able with the obvious space being within the stairwell.
Ability Lifts, the Sheffield based platform lift installer, were selected to supply Optimum 100.
Stylish and reliable Optimum 100 is particularly suited to stairwell situations due to the free standing nature of the structure and a patented drive system that does not require a mast like other platform lifts. This feature allows the use of glass as required on any side of the lift.
Optimum 100 at Ashfield is further complimented by automatic doors and a school locking device to prevent unauthorised use. A UPS system (uninterrupted power supply) is an additional optional feature fitted on this occasion to allow a limited continued use in both directions in the event of a power failure.
A 12 month service contract and three year major parts warranty provides peace of mind for a job well done.
