Overlooking Ormes Bay, the Llandudno Bay Hotel is the area’s newest four star hotel, offering luxury and fantastic views across the Bay.
Ability Lifts were contacted by the building contractor, Brierstone Limited, to look at the possibility of installing one of their lifts, to negotiate a flight of stairs to the secondary entrance of the hotel. After the initial survey, the Optimum 200 Stair Platform Lift was an ideal choice with it’s folding guard arms and high lifting capacity of 300 kilograms, enough for the largest of wheelchairs.
The lift was specified with a 1250mm x 800mm platform, in order to fully provide Part M compliance. Before installation, the lift and stanchion posts were powder coated in a durable black finish to match the existing paintwork and blend in with the environment.
Standard wireless controls allowed for the lower landing call buttons to be positioned on a post in the most convenient location for ease of use.
The guard arms on the unit neatly fold down behind the platform when the lift is not in use, to protect them from vandalism and keep them out of the way of people using the stairs.
To ensure the lift remains in perfect condition, a service contract was supplied to provide ongoing aftersales support into the future.
