Infinity Gym, based in Boddam, North of Aberdeen in Scotland, is a state-of-the-art gym with the very latest in workout equipment to suit a full range of users. The gym opened it’s doors in 2019 to the local community.
Infinity Gym was in the process of adding a new steel staircase with 16 steps, designed to fit into the current building. To aid access to wheelchair users, Ability Lifts were contacted to design a suitable stair riser platform lift that would work with the staircase layout and would match aesthetically. However, the staircase had an incredibly tight landing space at the lower level that could make access to any stair lift tricky.
Fortunately, Ability Lifts had a solution, in the shape of their Optimum 200 platform lift. The lift can be designed to fit the most compact of areas, and in this case, the platform was specified at 1000mm x 800mm – a perfect fit for the lower landing area, whilst the ramp was modified to accommodate the tight space available.
The Optimum 200 lift has a very impressive weight capacity of 300Kgs, so is available to use by even the heaviest of wheelchairs. The lift seamlessly blends in with the style of the gym interior design, with a stunning metallic grey finish, and stainless steel rails. What’s more, the lift uses clean rail technology, enabling the upper rail of the unit to double as a handrail, making it useful for non-wheelchair users too.
The platform lift comes with a useful one year parts and labour warranty, with a further two years parts warranty on the major parts, ensuring peace of mind for the future.
