Hydraulic platform lift aids access to Singleton Hall
Singleton Hall, situated just a couple of miles from Blackpool, dates back to 1873, when it was built for Thomas Horrocks Miller and his wife. Now, transformed into beautiful apartments, the hall still retains many of the historical original features of the Miller home.
The Singleton Trust wanted to ensure that residents and visitors, that were in wheelchairs or had problems with the stairs, could fully access the building without any issues. Ability Lifts were contacted for their expert advice on access, and recommended the Optimum 350 platform lift as the ideal solution after reviewing the architects drawings and specifications.
Following a review by the Trust, where they requested some finishing touches, the lift was installed by Ability Lifts, working with the main contractor for building works.
The lift, which comes with it’s own self supporting structure, was specified for outdoor use, and finished in a special RAL colour to match in with the environment. The platform itself has a 900mm x 1450mm platform with an open through arrangement, making it fully compliant for disabled access, and has an upper gate with a glass infill panel.
