St Peter’s Church, Peterchurch
Families in the Golden Valley will be able to enjoy a range of children’s activities in their local church following the completion of a unique building project. St Peter’s Church in Peterchurch was recently renovated and adapted to bring 12th and 21st century architecture together and to give the Golden Valley Children’s Centre a home. The project to refurbish the interior involved freeing up space by removing the pews, Installing environmentally friendly under floor heating, lighting, toilets, kitchen, disabled toilet and storage space for toys and games have also been added.
The new mezzanine floor provides access into the bell tower providing an additional room used as a public library stocked and managed by the council and run by volunteers in addition to the stairs this can be reached by the Optimum 100 platform lift, the lift has been fully clad to blend with the kitchen and toilet in the nave.
