St Marychurch C of E Primary & Nursery School
There has been a school on the site since 1878. Tragically the previous school was destroyed by bombing on Sunday May 30th 1943 luckily as it was a Sunday the school was empty.
The latest school built on the site was in need of modernisation to provide lift access to the top floor of the school for pupils and visitors with mobility difficulties, although the school had been expanded on previous occasions there was no spare internal space to add even the smallest DDA compliant lift. The Solution to this was the Optimum 150.
The Optimum 150 platform lift was situated externally with the entrances in the internal walls, made up of a fully weatherproofed, secure and insulated external structure fitted with the Optimum 100 platform lift inside. The external unit was finished in insulated Microrib Kingspan in a colour chosen to match the existing trim of the building, with the majority of the installation work planned to make as little impact to the running of the school as possible.
