First built in 1865, Oaklands is now fully restored to former glory and combines the grandeur of a great old building with modern facilities thus providing great living space for the new apartment owners.
Ability Lifts became involved as the developer wanted to provide full and easy vertical access to all parts of the building with the only space available for a lift being in the centre of a restored staircase within a very grand Victorian Hall.
The lift would need to contemporary, see through and be able to sit directly on to the Minton tiled floor.
Optimum 100 platform lift was selected in full glass to four sides along with a specially selected RAL colour choice to suit the existing surroundings. A 60mm high ramp was provided so that the floor did not need to be excavated.
