Specialising in the sales, repair and restoration of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars since 1967 are P & A Wood.
Based in Dunmow in Essex work is undertaken on cars dating back to 1904 with the company motto, ‘Attention to Detail’ very much in evidence in all aspects of the workshop and showroom.
P and A Wood are the only Rolls-Royce authorised accident repair agent for the UK and as a result have expanded the engineering workshop to provide space and modern equipment for the continuing growth of the business.
With the workshop and showroom being built on an inclined site over three levels there was also a requirement for vertical access for the less able. The solution was to be provided by the installation of a platform lift with the added featured being access to the ground level from both the office and showroom side of the building.
Ability Lifts of Sheffield were chosen for this work with the requirement to install Optimum 100. A three level platform lift was therefore installed with the unique feature of being accessed from two sides on the same level. Steel doors were fitted to the workshop side and glazed doors fitted to the showroom side to compliment the final effect.
The added benefit of Optimum 100 being that, with a standard load capacity of 500kg, light goods can also be transported easily and safely between the various levels.
