Methodist Church, Ludwig Way believe in “opening their doors to all”
To aid access to all areas of the church a lift was needed, due to the age and layout of the building it was not possible to install a lift internally and it was decided that the Optimum 150 would be an ideal and space saving solution, situated externally with the entrances in the internal wall.
Once the clients builder provided the entrance apertures and the concrete plinth the installation could take place, the fully weatherproofed, secure and insulated external structure with the Optimum 100 platform lift inside was installed and the substantial steel structure anchored to the wall and finished in Microrib Kingspan in the colour chosen by the client. Although not necessary from a structural point of view the clients builder was then called in to add the brickwork at the base of the structure to blend in with the existing building.
The congregation of the church made a promise to do all that they could to live responsibly on this earth by cherishing the environment and the earth’s resources.
Ability Lifts share this philosophy and in keeping with this view supplied them with the Optimum 100 enclosed platform lift.
Optimum 100 is the most energy efficient platform lift available, with a drive system that uses up to 75% less electricity and a guided chain system that is expected to last a minimum of 25 years whilst being virtually maintenance free. No separate motor room is required meaning there is no danger of oil leakage.
