Easy access for Regional Fire Training Unit
The Regional Fire Training Unit (RFTU) Garroch Loaning was recently expanded with a large workshop and training facility. The new 385 square metre building contains an array of roof mounted solar panels on the southern elevation and is finished with a roof in metal sheeting. To blend in with the surrounding area, the walls are metal composite panelling system in silver and diamond colours with a grey facing brick base course and windows and doors in a toning grey colour.
To provide access to all floors of the new building, the Optimum 100 platform lift was chosen as an ideal solution. As energy efficiency and aesthetics were important on the project, the platform lift uses a 0.55kw energy efficient motor – this uses 75% less energy than other models of platform lifts. Located in the glazed atrium and in the centre of the wrap-around staircase, the lift was fully glazed and powder coated in a matching RAL colour to match in perfectly with the rest of the interior.
