The Chavasse Lift Opened by Sir Bert Massey CBE

Thanks to the fund raising efforts of the management team and the generous grant offered by Biffa, Liverpool Cricket Club have been able to install a modern state of the art platform lift supplied by Ability Lifts Ltd the Sheffield based Platform Lift specialists.

Serving 3 levels including the squash viewing area, wheelchair users and those less able can now easily access the main balcony level to watch sports of all types and make use of the refreshment facilities available.

The Platform Lift (Optimum 100) was officially opened by Sir Bert Massie who has worked tirelessly for many years on behalf of disabled people and was made a knight for these services in 2007.

Nick Bates, General Manager of Ability Lifts, commented ‘this was very challenging installation as we needed to cater for the very largest of motorised wheelchairs and managed to do this by installing our larger model with a 1680mm long x 1120mm wide platform and a 500kg carrying capacity’.
