Bishopthorpe is a thriving village of around 3,500, The newly extended and refurbished Village Hall was officially opened on 5th September 2009. The project cost approximately £250,000 hundreds of villagers have visited the hall and the overwhelming opinion was that the renovations had not only been a great success but had brought the hall well and truly into the 21st century!
When the Village hall was re opened after extensive renovations it had amongst other additions the Optimum 100 platform lift, The high quality, reliable, guided chain driven vertical platform lift with its own self supporting structure and small footprint blends easily into the overall surroundings and colour schemes.
The new Optimum 100 enclosed platform lift is used several times a day by young and old and has been deemed as a success in opening up the whole hall to everyone who visits.
Many events and regular meetings are held in the new 1st floor meeting room as access is no longer an issue, the new home for the Community Archive is also on the first floor and appears the local history group may also be growing in its new home!
