When the old rugby and cricket club houses in York couldn’t keep up with the members a new combined clubhouse was the answer. The new 2 storey site needed a lift, it came from Ability Lifts of Sheffield. Already a familiar name in many York locations the Optimum 100 from Ability lifts meant that both levels of the club house could be easily accessed by all members and visitors.
The new clubhouse at Clifton Park put the old buildings in their place, both in size and in use, Clifton Park Sports is now the home of York RUFC, York Cricket Club, York Squash Club and York Tennis Club.
The installation of the platform lift meant that the club house complied with current DDA regulations and that the new 1st floor 150
seat function room could be used to host many functions.
One of the many functions that was able to take place was the York Sports Ball 2010. The event was held to raise money for 3 of
York’s finest Sports Club, York City Rowing Club, Rufforth Netball Club and York Rugby Club.
