A North Yorkshire distillery, perfectly named the “Spirit of Yorkshire,” recently contacted Ability Lifts to ask for their expert advice and a recommendation for a platform lift.
With regular tours operating 7 days a week, a fully functioning platform lift was essential to ensure everyone visiting the distillery would be able to access all levels. This includes a viewing gallery from which you can see the complete distillery, a cafe with full seating area overlooking the two largest Forsyth pot stills operating in the UK outside of Scotland, along with a four-plate copper column, that works in tandem with the spirit still.
The Spirit of Yorkshire`s Director – David Thompson, contacted Ability Lifts, who then promptly visited the site to carry out a full detailed survey and go through all the key requirements. This ensures everyone is aware of the project requirements prior to an order being placed and to ensure the lift installation was completed before the Easter 2017 opening.
A slate grey colour was chosen for the lift shaft and platform carriage console. To aid entry a 1000mm wide glazed door was used on the long side of the shaft as the shaft had an open adjacent configuration with a fully compliant platform of 1480mm x 1120mm.
