Ability Lifts were recently contacted by the owner of Flip Out Southampton in Eastleigh, to get some expert advice about retro fitting a lift to go from the ground floor to the mezzanine, stopping at an intermediate floor on the way.
After carrying out a site survey, Ability Lifts recommended their Optimum 100 platform lift with a shaft size of 1250mm x 1560mm, to fit within the limited space. The client decided against the use of a pit, and so to minimise the builder’s work, a ramp was provided in lieu of the usual 60mm pit.
The lift was installed in an open through arrangement with fully glazed doors. What’s more, the whole process, from initially contacting Ability Lifts to having a fitted, fully operational lift was completed with no disruption to the new facility, which was already open before the lift was installed.
The owner of Flip Out was delighted with the new lift and looks forward to being able to offer access to all their visitors for years to come. Ability Lifts have also installed platform lifts at other Flip Out centres in Ashford, Chichester, Glasgow and Blackburn.
